    1. Yes Sudip, you are right, Folder locking can be done without any use of software.

However the main feature of this software is not just to lock any folder, but to increase the security by encrypting the data.

There are 3 more feature available in this software, such as file backup, USB drive lockup and File shredder which physically deletes the data, so that it can not be traced with file recovery software.

And this blog is developed for all kind of readers, 100 percent readers or PC users may not have sound knowledge in complex DOS commands to lock any folder, thus this post or information may be helpful for them. The purpose of this blog lies there.

You may suggest other ways to perform the same task, to all the readers.

    1. Yes Jit it’s possible to lock and encrypt an USB drive. If you have used the application File Secure Free, then you can easily find out the solution of your own question.

And to the answer of your second question, you must remember, when you are encoding any file, and then you need the same decoder or logic to decode the file. Not always, windows or any other OS have the default decoder to decoder the file. Thus while you are sharing a locked drive with any one, he or she must have the same decoder installed in his or her system, to decode the file/drive.
