Now Sharing or transferring files or folder with out any installation of any software is not easier before. If you want to share any files or folder with your friends without any signup or any software installation, then you are on the right track. All you need, is an internet connection and a browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari. You need not have to upload the files or folders which you want to share to any file server or cloud. Its just a simple Peer to Peer service, thus the files are directly transferred to the other peer, with no file server functioning in between.
It is web based service, thus you need to browse Folders.io web site, there you will find transfer quota is 500MB for non-registered users and for registered users the transfer quota is 1GB which is complete free of cost service. If you want to transfer or share more volume then there are other paid services, which serve you with more Data Volume transfer.

How to transfer Files or Folders using Folders.io

  • At first you need to have and active Internet Connection.
  • Then you need to browse Folders.io web site, via any of your web browser.
  • In the webpage you will find a portion, for transferring file and folders.

  • Once you have clicked on the Start serving button after adding your the files or folder which you want to share, you will get a link to share your files.
  • All you need to do is to let you friend know the link which will be produced by the webpage, via email or Facebook or Twitter or IM or any other social network.

  • Once your friend opens the share link, he/she will be able to view the files which you have shared and will be able to download the files or folder by clicking on the file link.
There is also an option, if your friend wants to upload or add any other file in the shared folder, then you have to check on the check box below the link, mentioning “Allow others to upload files to this computer”. One point is to be noted, that while the transfer is on process, the File Server web page needs to be opened in both the peers and active internet connection should be  there in both the peers, for successful transfer or files or folders.
